Standing trunk rotation with reach

A standing spiral rotation in which the trunk turns from side to side and the arms follow loosely around the body.

  1. Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart and bend your knees slightly. Lengthen your spine and let your arms hang loosely by your sides.

  2. Begin the turn in your upper back and let the movement continue through your trunk. Let your arms swing heavily and loosely around your body. Swing back through the centre and continue to the other side.

Technique tips

  • Let your breathing follow the movement without holding your breath.
